Started with a
single bag of beans
and a big dream.
Grounds & Co. was born in 2019 when founder Maya Chen left her corporate job to chase a simpler, more meaningful life — one cup at a time. What started as a farmer's market pop-up became Portland's most-loved neighborhood coffee shop.
We source directly from three family farms in Ethiopia and Colombia, roast in small batches every Tuesday, and believe that good coffee should slow you down, not speed you up.
